I saw the trailer for the new Spiderman movie last weekend, and I've yet to decide if I want to see it. I've seen all of the other movies, and while they aren't the *best* films I've ever seen, they're not bad (though I wasn't as much a fan of the sequels as I was the original).
Any other thoughts? Yay? Nay? Will you be tuning in to the new flick this summer?

I'll probably go regardless, just because I'm a massive Spider-Man fan. That being said, I'm still not sure what to think of it, really. I'm a huge Sam Raimi fan (although my love is focused mostly on the Evil Dead series) and I actually enjoyed his take on the franchise, despite the flaws (but the first one is by far my favourite). I also thought Tobey Maguire made a good Peter Parker. I'm not crazy familiar with Andrew Garfield though, so I'm curious...
Am I the only one who's feeling like reboots have been happening rather quickly lately? I mean, I remember the Hulk flick with Eric Bana coming out and then, in a relatively short time, it seemed, the Edward Norton reboot was opening. I feel the same with the Spider-Man flicks. Of course, it's also possible I'm just losing all track of time and it's always been this way.

Sam Raimi was amazing, full stop. And yeah, I have to drop in on the Tobey Maguire love as well. I liked his take on Peter Parker. Again, more so in his first movie than either of the sequels, but this is probably do to the interactions he had with Mary Jane. I haaaaate the movie version of MJ (sorry, Kirsten Dunst), and cringed whenever she was around. Andrew Garfield is very, very pretty to look at. I'm unsure if this will taint my viewing of his character, because while I am the first to be on board with some nice movie eye candy, I really don't want to be distracted by it in this instance.

Sometimes it's so bad that it's actually good.
